What amount of investment is required for a Testa Rossa caffèbar?

The investment depends on the size of the premises and the structural prerequisites. Reckon with around €1400 per square meter of area. This does not include additional costs for approvals, authorizations and licences, fees or additional construction costs (exterior facade, sanitary facilities, terrace).

Who can help me set up financing?

We can recommend leasing companies and management consultants who will assist you in organising the financing of your franchise.

Who will fit out and furnish the bar?

We work with companies who plan and fit out our bars precisely to our architectural standards. You will receive plans and quotations from one of these contracted companies. After you confirm the order, the company will outfit the bar on a turnkey basis, ready for you to start operations.

Do I need to be a restaurateur in order to become a franchisee?

No, career changers can be equally suitable as caffèbar managers – we provide thorough in-depth training in our pilot outlets. However, whatever your background you must fulfil the requirements for a franchise partnership. Of course investors are also welcome; you should appoint a reliable operations manager who will be trained by us.

Where does training take place, and how long does it last?

Training takes place in the pilot outlets of the country in question. It involves a theory section in which all sections of the manual are worked through, and a practical training period in the outlets. The training is an integral part of the contract and lasts for a minimum of 3 weeks. The training plan varies from individual to individual depending on the extent of previous experience.

Do you also train my staff?

Training the staff is the responsibility of the franchisee. The Franchise Manual includes a Staff Manual containing all issues of importance for your staff. However, your staff can take part in a coffee training course in one of our outlets.

Do I have to buy all the items / goods I need from Testa Rossa caffè?

No, only contractually defined items must be ordered from Testa Rossa caffè. These items are specified in the Franchise Agreement and cover around 20% of total purchases. You purchase fresh goods, non-alcoholic beverages and beer from local dealers.

What about a purchasing list of everything I’ll need?

During the introductory training, you will be given a checklist of goods and smallware with their sources. There is also an order list for contractually defined items.

Do you provide support in day-to-day operations?

Yes. You can get in touch with contacts at any time by telephone, and they make regular personal visits. You can also exchange information directly with your colleagues, either via the Intranet or at the franchise conference.

How long will it take before my bar starts turning a profit?

It depends on the location. Extremely highly frequented locations should start moving into profit around 6-8 months after opening, whereas less popular locations will require a longer period before they are established.

Do you supply assistance in drawing up a business plan?

Yes, we supply you with a detailed site checklist which you should go through very carefully. It will deliver the basic figures for your subsequent business calculations. We also supply you with figures for use in your business calculations which are based on our experience with our outlets. You should work with your accountant to draw up an individual liquidity plan and 3-year plan.
